SHF Rituals 2006
Well, there isn't anything inherently religious or non-religious about sorcery (magick) is there?…
It can look like theater, but the gist of it isn't concerned with application. It's a practical skill, like reading and writing. It's not that you can, it's what you read and write or, if you'll excuse the play on words, what you spell.

Monday August 6:
WE ARE YOUR PEOPLE, JOIN US!
Intent: To welcome people home
Description:
Who are we? How did we get here? Where are we going? We are witches, wiccans, heathens, pagans, druids, and so many more. We are practitioners of earth based religions; coven, grove or lodge members, solitaries, new on our paths, experienced, or seeking. We owe our (relative) freedom to practice to a great number of brave and powerful souls who paved an easier way for us, and once every summer we join together as a family, a tribe, to share in the sacred harvest. Come with empty hands and open heart, wear beads and bangles and jingly jangles and be welcomed to our tribe.
Blessings, Lilli
Chant/song:
Let us gather 'neath the moonlight
In a clearing in the trees
Let us cast our sacred circle
And call forth the mysteries.
Let us call upon the Lady
Let us call upon the Lord
Let us call the nature spirits
With the chalice and the sword.
Let us light the sacred fire
Let the flames go burnin' high
Let us offer up our praise
To Mother Earth and Father Sky.
We will send a cone of power
Now our magic work is done
And we'll dance in celebration
'Til the rising of the Sun (3 X on last line)
by Pat Taylor
Listen To Pat sing Let us gather!
Song:
WE ARE YOUR PEOPLE
Chorus:
We are your people, join us (4X)
We are the old ones, join us
We are the young ones, join us
We are the wild ones, join us
We are your people, join us.
** Then add in your own claim!

SELENE'S ESBAT
Intent: Connect with modern witches historical past with a classic witches esbat experience. Give each person an opportunity to worship and commune with celestial power.
Description:
"Drawing down the moon, comes from within. It comes from the intention of surrendering yourselves to the arms of the Goddess. Giving yourself with humility, with love and reverence, it is the ultimate surrender of your being to the Divine, a sacrifice indeed to attain such blessings from the Gods."
"Ritual possession not only gives us insight and wisdom, it connects us with the Divine. It unites us, giving us a chance to know the power in the Divine as well as the ability latent in us. It gives us the comfort and security that we're part of the Gods, well expressed in the old Egyptian adage 'There is no part of us which is not of the Gods'.
From RealMagick Article: "Drawing Down the Moon" by Zenith Simon
We offer you our version of a traditional witches esbat, and hopefully a glimpse of the (almost) full moon. I have never subscribed to the notion that the high priestess should have sole rights to the evocative practice of "Drawing Down the Moon". Come prepared to enjoy the experience for yourself.
Blessings Lilli
Song: She's Been Waiting
by Paula Walowitz
She’s been waiting, waiting.
She’s been waiting so long.
She’s been waiting for her children
To remember, to return.
(Repeat)
Blessed be, and blessed are,
The lovers of the lady.
Blessed be, and blessed are,
The mother, maiden, crone.
Blessed be, and blessed are,
The ones who dance together.
Blessed be, and blessed are,
The ones who dance alone.
She’s been waiting, waiting.
She’s been waiting so long.
She’s been waiting for her children
To remember, to return.
(Repeat)
Blessed be, and blessed are,
The ones who work in silence.
Blessed be, and blessed are,
The ones who shout and scream.
Blessed be, and blessed are,
The movers and the changes.
Blessed be, and blessed are,
The dreamers and the dream.
She’s been waiting, waiting.
She’s been waiting so long.
She’s been waiting for her children
To remember, to return.
(Repeat)

Wednesday Night: :
Magic is Afoot
Intent: Under the Full Moon we meet to share tales of real magic in our lives.
Description:
What is Mystery?
1. That which is not fully understood or that baffles or eludes the understanding; an enigma:
2. A work of fiction, a drama, or a film dealing with a puzzling crime.
3. The skills, lore, or practices that are peculiar to a particular activity or group and are regarded as the special province of initiates.
4. A religious truth that is incomprehensible to reason and knowable only through divine revelation.
What is Magick?
1. An action or effort undertaken because of a personal need to effect change, especially as associated with Wicca or Wiccan beliefs.
We have all had an experience we cannot explain or understand, or a moment of revelation, or a time when the magick worked. Tonight under the full moon we will join to share the mysteries.
Blessings Lilli

Friday night:
THEY WILL REMAIN
Intent: Reawaken our awareness to the forces of the natural world
Maybe not within our lifetimes, but quite possibly in those of our children, the "beauty of the green earth" may have been paved over completely, and the "white moon amongst the stars" might be just another venue for advertisement, and the "mystery of the waters" would be how we can find any clean enough to drink, and the "secret desire within the heart" will be to get it back the way it was. In my despair I try to keep perspective, I try to remember that the forces of nature are beyond our control, that only life can generate more of itself, that without constant tending the trappings of civilization would be swallowed up by Gaia's regenerative force. That is what this ritual is about, to be touched by the archetypes of that force, and as a reminder that "when we are gone, they will remain"
Blessings, Lilli
Song: "We are spirits"
We are spirits wearing skin
We are spirits deep within
We are spirits dancing bones
We are spirits standing stones
With descant of:
I am the air and I am blowing
I am the fire and I am glowing
I am the water and I am flowing
I am the earth and I am growing
Listen to "
WE ARE SPIRITS"
Chant:
Chloris... Flora... Green Man ... Jack...
Song:
"THEY WILL REMAIN"
When we are gone, They will remain
Wind and Rock, Fire and rain
They will remain, When we return
The wind will blow, And the fire will burn
A bird in flight,
So black of wing
Across my path,
In early spring
She cast her eye,
She holds me fast
I see her shadow
In tangled grass.(Chorus)
The winter is gone
The hills are bare
The rabbit wakes
From her darkened lair
A whispered voice
In the leafing tree
The melting waters
Of an ice cold sea (chorus)
The chilly wind
A rushing free
The pale green veil
Of a willow tree
The circling hills
The melting snows
The sheltered rock
Where the crocus grows (chorus)
Listen to "
THEY WILL REMAIN"
Saturday night:
Passion of the Harvest
Intent: Classic Harvest Ritual of sacrifice and renewal
Has not all that we have eaten once lived?
How do we give back?
Sunday:
Closing Ritual
Intent:
Magick is and has always been a way of adapting and learning to survive whatever circumstances we find ourselves in. Our experiences this week, many and varied as they have been, prepare us for our re-entry into the world of the mundane.
Live your magic everyday and use these resources to help you thrive until we meet again.
See song 1 Above:
We've gathered in the moonlight
In our home under the trees
And cast our sacred circle
And shared the mysteries.
Sure as the wind my people and sure as the rain
Sure as the sun does shine we will raise our song again
Walk With Wisdom
Walk with wisdom, from this hallowed place
Walk not in sorrow, our roots shall 'ere embrace
Let strength be your brother (sister), and honour be your friend
And luck be your lover, until we meet again
